About Vinyl Grading

All vinyl records are graded using a Media/Jacket/Obi system. If an obi is included, its condition will be noted separately.

We strive for conservative grading; it's better to under-grade than to over-grade.

Sealed:
  • Reserved for new or otherwise never opened products.

Excellent:
  • Nearly perfect. May have 1-2 minuscule flaws, if any, disclosed. Vinyl shows no visible marks or noise distortion during playback.

Very Good+:
  • Minor flaws, not affecting use or integrity of the jacket. Light marks on vinyl that do not impact play. Possible wear, foxing marks, or discernible odor. Issues will be described in notes.

Very Good:
  • More obvious wear and marks. May have light surface noise or minor scratches, but still plays well. Jacket may show wear and tear, but no major splits.

Good:
  • Well-used with noticeable marks and scratches on vinyl, but plays through without skips. Jacket may have significant wear, splits, or ring wear.

Fair/Poor:
  • Heavy wear, marks, scratches, or other issues affecting playability. Jacket or sleeve may be torn, heavily damaged, or defaced. Obi (if included) may have tears, rips, or significant damage.

Each record is visually inspected and play-tested as much as possible to ensure accuracy in grading. Any additional issues not covered by the grades will be detailed in the product description.
