About CD Grading

CD Grading:

CDs are graded using a Disc/Case/Obi system. If an obi is included, its condition will be noted separately.

EXCELLENT / EX:

  • Perfection or close to it. Reserved for new, or like new condition CDs, with minimal case scratches, wear or flaws shown. Media is complete with inserts, booklets and obi.

VERY GOOD PLUS / VG+:

  • Some wear, scratches, foxing or creases on case, insert and/or obi that does not impede use.  Possible small writing or stickers if less than 5cm. Disc might have light marks or wear that do not impact playback. Flaws are discussed and shown.

VERY GOOD / VG:

  • Additional and more scratches, liquid damage, creases, cracks or case damage than VG+. Disc might have medium to light marks that do not impact playback. Disc has been tested. Flaws are discussed and shown.

GOOD / G:

  • Case might be cracked, hinge damage or incomplete. Significant wear to impede usage of jewel case. Medium to significant marks on media that do not impact playback. Disc has been tested. Flaws are discussed and shown.

POOR / P:

  •  Pieces of case are missing, damaged or unusable, more extensive damage than good. Disc might not be completely playable. Flaws are discussed and shown.

We inspect and/or play grade as much as possible. Any additional details or information covered is listed in listing and/or live auction.
